Speech and Language Therapy services in schools
Better Days provides school-based Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) services to support students with speech, language and communication needs. We work in partnership with schools, SENCOs and teachers to help children and young people access learning and participate fully in school life.
How our service supports students
We support children to understand, express themselves, and participate fully in learning and social interactions at school.
Our Speech and Language Therapists deliver practical, evidence-informed support within educational settings, ensuring strategies are relevant, achievable and embedded into everyday classroom practice.
Your school’s goals are our goals
We understand the central role communication plays in learning, wellbeing and inclusion. Our speech and language therapy services are designed to align with EHCP outcomes and whole-school priorities, helping schools support students effectively and meet statutory responsibilities.
We focus on removing communication barriers so students can engage confidently across the school day.

FAQs
How can Speech and Language Therapy support students in school?
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) supports students who experience difficulties with understanding language, expressing themselves or using communication effectively in school. In educational settings, SaLT focuses on helping students access learning, engage with peers and adults, and participate confidently across the school day.
Can Speech and Language Therapy support access to the curriculum?
Yes. Our therapists support students to understand instructions, follow classroom language, use vocabulary related to learning and express ideas clearly. This helps improve access to lessons and supports progress across subjects.
Do you support social communication in school environments?
Yes. We support students who experience challenges with social communication, including turn-taking, understanding social cues, building relationships and using language appropriately in different school contexts such as the classroom, playground and group work.
How do you work with SENCOs and teaching staff?
We work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers and parents. This includes classroom observation, consultation, shared problem-solving and providing practical strategies that can be used consistently across lessons and routines.
